The Ministerial Council of the Organization of the Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) concluded its 77th meeting here today under the chairmanship of Qatari second deputy premier, minister of power and industries Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah. The Saudi delegation was headed by the minister of petroleum and mineral resources Eng. Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi. The meeting discussed several key issues including approval of a draft budget estimated at 1,762,000 Kuwaiti dinars for OAPEC'S General Secretariat, its Judicial Authority for the year 2007. The meeting also reviewed the result and the winners of the OAPEC Scientific Award for the year 2006, which was under the title of "The technology of gas liquidization, future and expected outcome." The ministerial council also reviewed a number of reports including the OAPEC's activities to build a comprehensive data base, the approval of an extended term for the Iraqi supervision of the Arab Petroleum Training Institute for an additional tenure effective from the 1st of January, 2007. The ministerial council will hold its next meeting in Doha, Qatar, on December 1, 2007.
