PRINCE SULTAN BIN FAHD BIN ABDULAZIZ, THE PRESIDENT OF YOUTH WELFARE AND PRESIDENT OF ARAB AND SAUDI FOOTBALL FEDERATIONS MET HERE TODAY WITH PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERATION OF THE INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION (FIFA) JOSEPH BLATTER CURRENTLY ON A BRIEF VISIT TO THE KINGDOM.
AT THE OUTSET OF THE MEETING BETWEEN THE TWO FEDERATIONS, BLATTER EXPRESSED HIS APPRECIATION OF AND THANKS TO THE CUSTODIAN OF THE TWO HOLY MOSQUES KING ABDULLAH BIN ABDULAZIZ FOR SUPPORTING PALESTINIAN SPORTS IN GENERAL AND FOOTBALL IN PARTICULAR, SAYING THE KING'S DONATION OF $ I MILLION IN SUPPORT OF THE PALESTINIAN SPORTS AND FOOTBALL IS A SOURCE OF PRIDE FOR FIFA WHICH CONFIRMS THE KINGDOM'S SUPPORT FOR THE INTEREST OF YOUTH AND SPORTS IN THE ARAB WORLD IN GENERAL AND PALESTINE IN PARTICULAR.
HE NOTED THAT SUPPORTING THE PALESTINIAN FOOTBALL MARCH ACHIEVES THE GOALS OF THE FEDERATION.
THE MEETING WAS ALSO ATTENDED BY PRINCE NAWAF BIN FAISAL BIN FAHD BIN ABDULAZIZ, VICE PRESIDENT OF YOUTH WELFARE AND VICE PRESIDENT OF ARAB AND SAUDI FOOTBALL FEDERATIONS.
DURING THE MEETING, PRINCE SULTAN BIN FAHD BIN ABDULAZIZ RENEWED THE KINGDOM'S SUPPORT FOR BLATTER AND FOR HIS RE-CANDIDACY AS FIFA PRESIDENT.
THE PRINCE EXPRESSED HIS DISSATISFACTION OVER THE FIFA'S CLASSIFICATION OF SAUDI FOOTBALL TEAM WHICH DOES NOT KEEP ABREAST OF THE TEAM'S CONTINENTAL AND INTERNATIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS.
ON HIS PART, FIFA PRESIDENT PROMISED TO SERIOUSLY AND PRACTICALLY STUDY THE MATTER.
THEN PRINCE SULTAN BIN FAHD AND BLATTER HELD A JOINT PRESS CONFERENCE.
THE PRINCE DESCRIBED HIS TALKS WITH BLATTER AS SUCCESSFUL WHICH ENHANCE ASPECTS OF COOPERATION BETWEEN THE TWO FEDERATIONS.
ON HIS PART, BLATTER THANKED THE KINGDOM FOR ITS SUPPORT OF HIS CONTINUATION IN HIS POST AS FIFA PRESIDENT FOR THE NEXT ROUND.
LATER TODAY, BLATTER LEFT RIYADH AFTER A BRIEF VISIT TO THE KINGDOM.
AT KING KHALED INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, HE WAS SEEN OFF BY PRINCE NAWAF BIN FAISAL BIN FAHD BIN ABDULAZIZ AND A NUMBER OF OTHER SENIOR SPORTS OFFICIALS.
