Saudi Aramco has discovered a new gas field south of Ghawar Field in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. On Nov. 15, the Nujayman-1 well tested gas in the 'Unayzah reservoir at 4,572 meters (15,000 feet). The well flowed 30 million standard cubic feet of gas per day (scfd) with 1,116 barrels per day of condensate at 4,900 psi wellhead pressure on a 38/64-inch choke, according to a report carried today by Saudi Aramco's web-site. Under normal production completion, the well is expected to flow at a higher rate that could reach at least 60 million scfd. Nujayman-1 is 30 kilometers south of Ghawar Field and 280 km southeast of Riyadh.
