A suicide car bomber detonated his vehicle near a convoy of Afghan police and NATO soldiers on Saturday, injuring two civilians who were walking in the street, an official said. The attack in the Charkh district of the central Logar province, 60 kilometers (40 miles) south of the capital, Kabul, caused light damage to some of the vehicles in the security patrol, said Abdul Majid Latifi, deputy provincial police chief. Two civilians were injured, he was quoted as saying by the Associated Press.
