The Council of Algerian government approved a draft bill that allows Algeria to contribute in the 4th general increase of the capital of Islamic Development Bank (IDB) which was approved by Makkah Summit last year and was endorsed by a resolution adopted by the thirty-first session of the IDB Board of Governors which met in Kuwait in May 2006, in a way that will double the bank's capital from 15 billion Islamic Dinars to 30 billion Islamic Dinars. According to the statement of the Council of the Algerian government which met under the chairmanship of the Algerian Prime Minister, Abdulaziz Belkhadem, the Algerian share in the process is estimated to be 21.55 million Islamic Dinars.
