Chinese President Hu Jintao arrived Thursday in Pakistan, Beijing's longtime ally, for talks on expanding economic ties, and possibly helping with Pakistan's nuclear energy program, the Associated Press reported. Hu's four-day visit is the first by a Chinese leader to this Muslim-majority country in 10 years and follows his trip to India, where Hu agreed to increase civilian nuclear cooperation with New Delhi. In a sign of the importance placed by Pakistan in the visit, Hu was greeted by the country's top political leadership, including Pakistani President Gen. Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz.
