A passenger train plunged into a river in western Indonesia on Monday after a bridge collapsed, killing at least nine people, a railway official said. The train was heading from Lubuk Linggau to South Sumatra's provincial capital of Pelembang when the accident occurred, said Hamidin, a spokesman for the state-run railway company, PT Kereta Api. «Initial reports said nine people were killed,» he said, adding that one of the coaches plunged into the river after a bridge it was crossing broke, the Associated Press reported.
