Greece and Turkey's military chiefs on Thursday explored ways of reducing military tension between the two regional rivals, DPA reported. Among the issues discussed between Turkish General Staff Chief Yasar Buynkanit and his Greek counterpart Admiral Panagiotis Chinofotis was the organization of joint military exercises the two countries will be involved in, either within NATO or in addressing natural disasters. Buynkanit arrived in Greece on Wednesday for a four-day visit, his first to the neighbouring country. The Turkish general also met with Greek Defence Minister Evangelos Meimarakis for talks, which according to officials were held in a friendly climate.
