Joschka Fischer, Germany's former foreign minister, said Saturday that the actions of German soldiers who posed with human skulls in Afghanistan were "unacceptable", according to dpa. Speaking at the sidelines of a conference on state building in Afghanistan taking place in Vienna this weekend Fischer stressed that, while not a member of government anymore, he was convinced the German government has done everything it could to deal with those "unacceptable actions." Germany's mass circulation Bild newspaper Wednesday published five photographs showing German soldiers playing with the skulls. The soldiers were members of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan during 2003 and 2004. Two soldiers have been suspended from duty. Said Tayed Jawad, Afghan Ambassador to the US, emphasized that they were the actions of a few undisciplined soldiers and this would not deflect on Germany's work in the country.
