Pakistan's Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz Tuesday said government was fully alive to check spread of Dengue fever and there was no shortage of testing kits or other required facilities to deal with disease, according to PPI. "Special treatment units have been established at all hospitals across the country, with those in major cities put on high alert. There is no problem of medical or para-medical staff despite Eid Al- Fitr Muslim festival holidays", he said. Prime Minister visited Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences in Islamabad and inquired health of Dengue fever patients. He said as diagnostic of disease is an important factor in dealing with this fever, government has ensured availability of testing kits, which are abundantly available in major cities. About fears of Dengue fever epidemic, he said government was taking all out measures including use of anti-mosquito sprays to contain the disease. However, people should also take care of situation to prevent disease on self-help basis and arrange sprays and increase use of anti-mosquito products at homes.
