A Pakistan Army contingent has departed for Sudan to serve under the aegis of United Nations Peacekeeping Mission, said an official statement. Brigadier Muhammad Arshad, Commander Corps Logistics, saw the contingent off at Islamabad International Airport. Arshad urged the departing troops to maintain the highest standard of professional excellence set by the Pakistani troops in the past. He said that Pakistani troops due to their professional excellence and humanitarian assistance are considered as guarantee for peace in peacekeeping missions around the world. Pakistani troops are rendering peacekeeping duties in Sudan for more than a year.
