A man from Georgia's breakaway region of Abkhazia was killed and two Georgian policemen were wounded in shooting on Saturday near the de-facto border between Georgia and Abkhazia, Georgia's Interior Ministry said, according to Reuters. "Several people came over from the Abkhazian side to territory controlled by Georgia and opened fire," said a spokesman for the ministry. "As a result of the shooting, one Abkhazian died and two Georgian policemen were wounded." The men crossed into western Georgia and opened fire on Georgian police, who returned fire, the spokesman said. One of the Georgian policemen was seriously injured. Moscow and Tbilisi have kept up a war of words about Georgia's two breakaway regions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia where separatist administrations say they want to secede to Russia.
