The foreign ministers of the six countries pushing Iran to stop nuclear enrichment are slated to convene via telephone over the "next couple of days" to confer on the EU-Iran talks earlier this week, a US State Department official said Friday, according to DPA. The ministers will be briefed by EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana, who spent eight hours negotiating in Berlin with Iran's top nuclear negotiator, Ali Larijani, this week, said US State Department spokesman Sean McCormack. Solana has said there was no breakthrough in the talks, but some "progress" was made. The so-called P-5-plus-1 include the five veto-wielding UN Security Council members - US, Britain, France, Russia, China - plus Germany. "They'll talk about what it is that Mr. Larijani said and what the next steps would be," said McCormack.
