U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has praised Indonesia as "a wonderful friend" as she met with visiting Vice President Yusuf Kaila. "I want to thank the vice president for seeing me, Rice said yesterday after a 30-minute meeting at a Washington hotel. "Indonesia is such a wonderful friend, and we are so grateful to have in Indonesia a country that is known for its tolerance and its moderation. The United States is very fortunate to know Indonesia." State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said the talks focused on regional, economic, and security issues, as well as the two countries battles against terrorism.
