THE SHOURA COUNCIL RESENTED REMARKS OF POPE BENEDICT XVI, THE HEAD OF VATICAN AGAINST ISLAM AND ITS PROPHET MOHAMMED (PEACE BE UPON HIM) IN A LECTURE DELIVERED AT REGENSBURG UNIVERSITY IN GERMANY LAST TUESDAY. IN A STATEMENT ISSUED BY THE COUNCIL HERE TODAY IN ITS ORDINARY SESSION PRESIDED OVER BY ITS CHAIRMAN SHEIKH DR. SALEH BIN ABDULLAH BIN HOMAID, THE COUNCIL CALLED ON VATICAN'S PRESIDENCY TO CORRECT THIS MISTAKE AND APOLOGIZE TO ALL MUSLIMS FOR CRITICIZING ISLAM AND PROPHET MOHAMMED (PEACE BE UPON HIM). FOLLOWING THE SESSION, DR. SALEH BIN ABDULLAH AL-MALIK TOLD SAUDI PRESS AGENCY (SPA) THAT THE COUNCIL ALSO EXPRESSED IT CONCERN THAT THE POPE'S REMARKS REFLECT A NEGATIVE TREND AT A TIME OF CALLS FOR A DIALOGUE, TOLERANCE, COEXISTENCE AND RENUNCIATION OF CLASHES OF CIVILIZATIONS AMONG PEOPLES.
