The French Foreign Ministry has confirmed that four French tourists were kidnapped in south-eastern Yemen on Sunday, correcting earlier reports that three French tourists and a German had been kidnapped, according to DPA. A spokesman for the German Foreign Office in Berlin said that there was no indication that any German nationals were among those abducted. Yemeni officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa that the abduction of the tourists by armed tribesmen took place in the Haban district of Shabwa province, about 460 kilometres from Sana'a.
