Abbas says ready to meet unconditionally with Olmert

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said Sunday that he was ready to meet unconditionally with the Israeli leader, possibly paving the way for a resumption of long-stalled peace talks.
Olmert called twice last week for a meeting with Abbas.
This was Abbas' first public statement of his willingness
to meet without conditions with the Israeli leader, the Associated Press reported.
