A British soldier was killed in an insurgent attack in Afghanistan on Sunday, the British Defence Ministry said, the latest NATO soldier to die since the alliance took over in the Afghan south from a U.S.-led force last month. "The Ministry of Defence can confirm the death of a British soldier during contact with insurgent forces in northern Helmand," a ministry spokeswoman said in London, referring to the southern province of Helmand. British troops in Helmand are part of a NATO peacekeeping force. Six NATO soldiers have been killed in the province since the alliance took command there on July 31, Reuters reported.
