Eleven people were charged in Britain Monday with involvement in an alleged plot to blow up transatlantic flights, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said according to dpa. Eight of the eleven were charged with conspiracy to murder and preparing acts of terrorism while two were charged with failing to disclose information. A 17-year-old was charged with possessing articles useful to a person preparing acts of terrorism. One woman was released without charge and 11 people remain in custody. A decision will be made in the coming days whether they will be charged or released, a CPS spokesperson said. On August 10, the British authorities announced they had foiled a terrorist plot aimed at blowing up planes bound from Britain to the US over the Atlantic. More than 20 people were arrested in the morning raid.
