IRANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER DR MANUCHEHR MOTAKI REVIEWED WITH HIS MALIAN COUNTERPART MUKHTAR AWAN ISSUES PERTAINING TO BILATERAL RELATIONS AND A NUMBER OF REGIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL PROBLEMS. SPEAKING ON THE OCCASION, THE MALIAN FOREIGN MINISTER REITERATED THE KEENNESS OF THE AFRICAN COUNTRIES ON DEVELOPING THEIR RELATIONS WITH IRAN. HE ANNOUNCED THE SUPPORT OF HIS COUNTRY TO IRANIAN PEACEFUL NUCLEAR PROGRAM. ON HIS PART, MOTAKI CONFIRMED THE READINESS OF IRAN TO PROVIDE MALI WITH EXPERTISE IN BUILDING DAMS. HE NOTED THAT THE RECENT RESOLUTION ADOPTED BY THE UN'S SECURITY COUNCIL ON IRAN'S NUCLEAR ISSUE IS UNACCEPTABLE BECAUSE IT LACKS THE LEGAL AND POLITICAL CREDIBILITY. MOTAKI SIGNED ALONG WITH HIS MALIAN COUNTERPART A COOPERATION MEMORANDUM UNDER WHICH THE IRANIAN COMPANIES WILL IMPLEMENT TECHNICAL AND ENGINEERING PROJECTS IN MALI.
