Jordan's Prime Minister Marouf al-Bakhit arrived Tuesday on a three-day visit that is likely to focus on border security and Iraqi oil supplies to Jordan at preferential prices. Al-Bakhit, who is accompanied by six ministers including energy, finance and interior, was welcomed by Iraq's Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki, the Associated Press reported. In Baghdad, al-Bakhit will resume talks that were started during al-Maliki's July 27 visit to Jordan, Jordanian government spokesman Nasser Judeh told reporters in Amman. «The visit is within the framework of consultations and discussions on all issues -- political and economic. It also seeks to consolidate relations between the two countries.» He did not elaborate. Judeh said al-Bakhit will also «offer whatever Jordan can do to support our Iraqi brothers in their quest for security, stability and domestic reforms.»
