Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs Syed Hamid bin Syed Jaafar Albar ARRIVES later TODAY IN Beirut AT THE HEAD OF A DELEGATION FROM the JEDDAH-BASED ORGANIZATION OF THE ISLAMIC CONFERENCE (OIC). HE IS SCHEDULED TO HOLD TALKS WITH LEBANESE PRIME MINISTER FU'AD SINIORA AND OTHER OFFICIALS ON THE LATEST DEVELOPMENTS IN THE ARAB REGION. ADDRESSING A PRESS CONFERENCE HERE TODAY, THE MALAYSIAN FOREIGN MINISTER SAID HIS QATARI AND PAKISTANI COUNTERPARTS WILL JOIN THE DELEGATION TO REVIEW WITH AL-SINIORA, MEANS OF IMPLEMENTING THE 7-ARTICLES LEBANESE PLAN APPROVED BY THE OIC AT ITS RECENT MEETING IN KUALA LUMPUR. AL-BAR SAID HE WILL VISIT DAMASCUS PRIOR TO PROCEEDING TO BEIRUT BY LAND. HE NOTED THAT HE WILL REVIEW IN DAMASCUS WITH SYRIAN FOREIGN MINISTER WALEED AL-MUALLEM THE CURRENT DEVELOPMENTS IN ADDITION TO THE ISSUE OF SENDING MALAYSIAN TROOPS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PEACEKEEPING FORCES IN LEBANON. 'OUR COUNTRY IS AWAITING AN OFFICIAL INVITATION FROM THE UN IN THIS RESPECT', HE ADDED.
