Afghan and coalition forces have killed 25 Taliban fighters in a counterterrorism operation in Afghanistan's southern Helmand province, military officials said Friday. The casualties came in a firefight that erupted when Afghan and coalition forces came under attack by small-arms and rocket-propelled-grenade fire Thursday in the Nahr Surkh district while they were conducting a cordon and search mission, the US-led coalition was quoted as saying by DPA.
