Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has left for Malaysia to attend an extraordinary summit of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) that would discuss the ongoing conflict in Lebanon, officials said. The summit being held in Kuala Lumpur has been called by Malaysia, the current chair of the OIC, in view of the unrelenting Israeli assault on Gaza and Lebanon and dangerous escalation of tension in the Middle East. The summit will discuss and evolve a common strategy to deal with the emerging Middle East situation. Both Aziz and President General Pervez Musharraf held discussions with Muslim leaders last week to mobilize opinion for resolution of the escalating crisis.
