AN OFFICIAL IN THE FOREIGN MINISTRY SAID HE COULD LEAVE AS EARLY AS SUNDAY EVENING. "I WILL TODAY VISIT BEIRUT TO MEET THE LEBANESE GOVERNMENT, TO SUPPORT IT AND SEE HOW WE COULD IMMEDIATELY SUSPEND OFFENSIVE OPERATIONS AND FIND THE CONDITIONS FOR A LASTING POLITICAL AGREEMENT," DOUSTE-BLAZY SAID IN AN INTERVIEW WITH MONDAY'S EDITION OF LE FIGARO RELEASED ON SUNDAY NIGHT. "IF WE DO NOTHING, THE TENSIONS COULD GET WORSE."
