Two Lebanese dignitaries have lauded the decision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to allocate $500 million to become a nucleus for an international Arab fund for the reconstruction of Lebanon in addition to depositing $1 billion at the central bank of Lebanon to boost the Lebanese economy. Member of Lebanon's parliament Bahiyyah Al-Hariri, in a statement to SPA, said Israel's vicious aggression on Lebanon had aimed at the destruction of the country's infrastructure installations so as to undermine Lebanon's economic and political role. She noted that the initiative of King Abdullah has assured the Lebanese people about their future and stability as well as the reconstruction of their country. Bahiyyah pointed out that Israel is keen on fomenting sedition and undermining the path of national peace stipulated in Taif accord signed under the patronage of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. "The Lebanese people do appreciate the efforts exerted by the Kingdom to end the aggression', she added. On his part, Ameen Mohammed Al-Da'auk, the chairman of al-Makasid Islamic charitable society, said the Saudi initiative comes to enable the Lebanese people confront the Israeli brutal and inhuman aggression. He lauded the intensive efforts exerted by the Kingdom along with other Arab and international parties to reach ceasefire and end the Israeli aggression against Lebanon.
