Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki will visit the White House on July 25, just over a month since President George W. Bush first met him in Baghdad. Bush has praised Al-Maliki for his commitment to advancing democracy and reform in Iraq, as the new prime minister has promised to dissolve sectarian militias, promote a national reconciliation plan, and accelerate reconstruction efforts. The two leaders first met in Baghdad on June 13, when Bush showed up in Iraq unexpectedly.
