The Sust dry port on Khunjerab pass near Pak-China border has been completed, says an official statement. The port is spread over 201 canals and is situated at 11,000 feet above sea level. It earn Pakistani Rs 1.5 billion revenue for Pakistan annually and enhance trade between Pakistan and China and help control smuggling. Built by a Chinese company, the port is located 87km from Khunjarab pass and 455 km from Chinese city Kashgar and also is the much cheaper route. The port would help increase revenue and eliminate smuggling, besides generating employment opportunities, the statement said. Pakistan imports auto parts, watches, toys, crockery, garments, etc from China while China imports cotton, cloth, Dates, dry fruit and leather goods from Pakistan.
