TWO SOLDIERS WERE KILLED AND FIVE WOUNDED THURSDAY NIGHT IN AN ATTACK BY KURDISH REBELS ON A RURAL POLICE STATION IN SOUTH-EAST TURKEY, THE ANADOLU NEWS AGENCY REPORTED ON FRIDAY. THE ATTACK BY REBELS FROM THE KURDISH WORKERS' PARTY (PKK) ON THE POLICE STATION IN THE GENC AREA OF BINGOL PROVINCE WHICH WAS MANNED BY GENDARMES, MILITARY POLICE RESPONSIBLE FOR SECURITY IN RURAL AREAS, OCCURRED AT 9:45 P.M., ACCORDING TO DPA. ONE OFFICER AND ONE PRIVATE WERE KILLED IN THE ATTACK. OPERATIONS WERE LAUNCHED IN ORDER TO CAPTURE THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTACK.
