Ali I. Al-Naimi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, got a first-hand look at the swift progress being made at the Khursaniyah oil field project during a recent visit. Al-Naimi and several high-ranking ministry officials attended a presentation by Ali A. Al-Ajmi, vice president of Project Management. Al-Ajmi gave the delegation an overview of the innovative contracting strategy put in place to expedite the design, engineering and construction of the project. He explained that for better integration, Khursaniyah's two massive plants - one for oil and one for gas - are located on the same site. Al-Ajmi said that configuration allows construction, operation and maintenance to be carried out more efficiently, and constitutes just one reason the project is progressing faster than other similar projects. --MORE 25/06/2006 11:14 ت م
