Six prisoners were released from Arar jail upon royal pardon recently announced by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. Since the day the king gave this gesture which coincided with his tour of a number of regions in the Kingdom last week, an ad hoc committee was formed by Northern Border Region Governor to study the cases of detainees. According to the royal pardon, those who proved to fall short of paying their debts or blood compensations or those who were convicted of public crimes and have spent long terms in prison might be pardoned.
