Dr. Huwaida Obeid Algithami, Acting Head of Heart Surgery and First Consultant of Cardiosurgery at Prince Sultan Center for Heart Surgery and Treatment, was awarded King Faisal fourth calss medal in recognition of her distinct performance as cardiosurgeon. Upon directives of the Custodain of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and instructions of Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, Dr. Kitab bin Eid Alotaibi, Director General for Medical Services of the Armed Forces, decorated Dr. Huwaida with the prestigious medal at a special ceremony at his office in Riyadh today. Following the decoration ceremony, Dr. Huwaida Algithami expressed gratitude and honor of the valuable royal confidence bestowed on her, noting that this comes within the continual interest of the Saudi leadership in providing support for national cadres and further boosting their professions. Dr. Huwaida is considered the Middle East's leading First Consultant and the world's second in the field of heart surgery. She has also recently been elected among the world's most renowned personalities. Totally devoted to children heart surgery, Dr. Huwaida was the first to conduct children lung artery tying operations.
