SOUTH KOREA SAID THE TRIP IS DESIGNED TO GIVE U.S. AMBASSADOR TO SOUTH KOREA, ALEXANDER VERSHBOW, AND OTHER DIPLOMATS A FIRST-HAND VIEW OF THE INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX THAT SEOUL SEES AS A MODEL OF ECONOMIC INTEGRATION BETWEEN THE TWO KOREAS.
