The foreign ministers of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states started here today their 99th session under the chairmanship of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayid Al Nahayan, Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and president of the current session of the GCC ministerial council. Prince Saud Al-Faisal, the Foreign Minister headed the Kingdom's delegation to the session. Addressing the council, UAE foreign minister commended Bahrain for hosting International Counter-terrorism Center proposed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz at International Counter-terrorism Conference held in Riyadh in February, 2005, emphasizing the important role to be played by the center in combating terrorism. He said that the GCC states laid stress on their call to make the Middle East including the Arab Gulf region free of all weapons of mass destruction. Then the ministers held a closed-door session.
