Ali Hashemi Rafsanjani, the President of the expediency council in Iran, has reiterated the readiness of Iran to to contribute to the process of reconstruction of Iraq. In a statement carried by the Iranian news agency, Rafsanjani said the US administration had committed a gross mistake by supporting Saddam Hussein of Iraq in his war against Iran. Rafsanjani added that the US administration had committed another mistake by invading Iraq, but he noted that the American invasion of Iraq had led to the liberation of Iraq from the yoke of the unjust (Bathi) regime. 'The future developments indicate that the occupiers of Iraq will face more failure', he added.
