Annan Examining Abbas Initiative

U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan is “taking a look” at Palestinian President Mahmood Abbas' initiative to hold a referendum on accepting a return to 1967 borders, U.N. spokesman Stephane Dujarric said Friday.
“The secretary-general welcomes the ongoing national dialogue” between the Hamas-led government and President Abbas, Dujarric told S.P.A. He had no further comment on Palestinian issues.
