THE NORTH KOREAN NUCLEAR CRISIS AND AN ATOMIC ENERGY PACT WITH SOUTH KOREA WILL BE ON INDONESIAN PRESIDENT SUSILO BAMBANG YUDHOYONO'S AGENDA WHEN HE VISITS BOTH SIDES OF THE KOREAN PENINSULA EARLY NEXT MONTH, OFFICIALS SAID ON FRIDAY, REUTERS REPORTED. YUDHOYONO PLANS TO BE IN NORTH KOREA ON JUNE 5-7 AND WILL TRAVEL FROM THERE TO SOUTH KOREA FOR A JUNE 7-9 VISIT, PRESIDENTIAL SPOKESMAN DINO PATTI DJALAL SAID. "IN NORTH KOREA, THERE WILL BE TALKS TO IMPROVE BILATERAL COOPERATION. THE PRESIDENT WILL ALSO ASK ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE KOREAN NUCLEAR ISSUE," HE TOLD REPORTERS. IT WAS UNCLEAR HOW HIS EFFORTS WOULD AFFECT STALLED SIX-PARTY TALKS ON PYONGYANG'S NUCLEAR ARMS PROGRAMME. THE TALKS INCLUDE THE TWO KOREAS, THE UNITED STATES, RUSSIA, CHINA AND JAPAN. SEPARATELY, A JAKARTA FOREIGN AFFAIRS SPOKESMAN SAID NUCLEAR POWER TIES BETWEEN INDONESIA AND SOUTH KOREA WOULD BE CEMENTED DURING YUDHOYONO'S VISIT TO SEOUL. "TWO MEMORANDUMS OF UNDERSTANDING WILL BE SIGNED... ONE IS ON NUCLEAR ENERGY COOPERATION," SAID DESRA PERCAYA.
