Delegates of the Saudi -U.S. Committee on Strategic Dialogue start meeting in Washington today, co-chaired by Prince Saud Alfaisal, the Saudi Foreign Minister, and Condoleezza Rice, the U.S. Secretary of State. The committee is slated to deal with aspects of strategic cooperation between the two friendly countries in the political, economic, military, security, cultural, social and scientific fields according to the guidelines of its first meeting in Jeddah last year. The committee was formed during the Crawford summit between the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and U.S. President George W. Bush on the 25th of April 2005 aiming at enhancing the current mechanisms of coordination and dialogue between the two countries and establish new mechanisms according to the nature and tools of the issues on the agenda dealing with the current cooperaion relations between the two countries and at the regional and international arenas.
