The Council of Board of Directors of the Organization of Standards and Specifications of the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council will hold its fifth meeting in Abu Dhabi on Sunday under the Chairmanship of UAE's Minister of State for Finance & Industry Muhammad bin Khalfan Al-Kharbash. GCC's ministers in charge of national standards and specifications bodies and members of the organization will discuss a number of issues pertaining to the development of the organization activities among the GCC countries. The Organization's Council will be briefed on reports pertaining to what has been accomplished and the new standards list for the fiscal year 2006 which includes not less than 750 standards. The Council's agenda includes the opening of the organization's electronic website which could facilitate communications and contacts between customers and the Organization. The council also will discuss GCC Compatibility project, supporting GCC Customs Departments Union and reinforcing GCC's industrialization quality. The council will be briefed on the financial report for the year 2005 and a Memorandum of Cooperation with Yemen within the framework of strengthening the relations between GCC and Yemen. The GCC is made up of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
