THE JOINT SAUDI-JORDANIAN BUSINESS COUNCIL CONCLUDED ITS MEETINGS HERE TODAY, CO-CHAIRED BY DR. HASHIM BIN ABDULLAH YAMANI, THE SAUDI MINISTER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY AND HIS JORDANIAN COUNTERPART SHARIF AL-ZUGHBI. IN A STATEMENT, YAMANI EXPRESSED SATISFACTION OVER THE OUTCOME OF THE DELIBERATIONS OF THE COMMITTEE, CITING THE AGREEMENT TO SET UP A JOINT INVESTMENT PORTFOLIO TO MANAGE THE FINANCE AND IMPLEMENTATION OF INDUSTRIAL, COMMERCIAL AND INVESTMENT PROJECTS WORTH $500 MILLION IN THE TWO COUNTRIES. HE URGED JORDANIAN COMMERCIAL INSTITUTIONS TO OPEN JORDANIAN MARKETS FOR SAUDI HIGH-QUALITY PRODUCTS. A PRESS RELEASE SAID THE TWO SIDES AGREED TO INCREASE THE TRADE EXCHANGE SIZE BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES, QUANTITATIVELY AND QUALITATIVELY AND ELEIMINATE THE OBSTACLES FACING THE IMPORT-EXPORT OPERATIONS BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES.
