Dr Ahmad Mohammed Ali, the President of the Islamic development bank (IDB), has underlined the importance of the document that focuses on the Bank's vision for the next 15 years. The Document entitled " IBB for the next 15 years," will enable the Jeddah-based bank to confront challenges emerged as a result of the remarkable developments in the world order and the swift changes of globalization, as well as to improve the IDB's services for its member states. In a statement to The Saudi Press Agency here today, he said the strategic trends in the document has similar views with the strategic topics of the ten-year working plan, recommended by the extraordinary Islamic Summit, held in Makkah last December. Dr Ali pointed out that the IDB will give top priority to issues like education, health, fighting poverty, and enhancing the role of women. "The IDB will take into account the swift and consecutive changes being witnessed by the world and the developmental challenges facing the member states in addition to the IDB's role in boosting development projects', he elaborated. Dr Ali said a higher committee has been formed for formulation of the IDB's future vision, adding that the committee includes a number of dignitaries like Dr Mahathir Mohammed, the former Malaysian premier, and Professor Bahruddin Habibi, the former Indonesian President.
