Yemeni Minister of Industry & Trade Khaled Rajih Shaikh has affirmed his recent talks with Secretary General of the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council Abdul-Rahman Al-Attiyah in Sanaa focused on Yemen's integration with economies of the GCC countries, especially in fields of trade and industry. In a statement published today in a special economic supplement of Yemen's official Arabic newspaper "Al-Thourah" (revolution), Shaikh said the talks also covered preparations for a conference on "Yemen and Gulf investment opportunities," which is scheduled to be held in Sana'a in February 2007. Shaikh also stressed that commercial relationships between Yemen and the GCC have improved recently and the commercial exchange increased by cent per cent. "Moreover, Gulf investments that are directed to Yemen in all fields will further bolster the commercial partnership between Yemen and GCC. The GCC is made up of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
