The national immunization program at the Yemeni health ministry has recently received additional support from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the coverage of this program. The support included 75 cooling refrigerators, 100 refrigerators with ice-lines and 390 cooling boxes. The delivery agreement was signed by director of health affairs in Jizan region Dr Ali al-Qahtani and undersecretary of the Yemeni health ministry for the sector of the health care Dr Majed al-Jadid. In a statement to SPA, Dr Al-Qahtani said this development constitutes a step on the path of joint cooperation between the Kingdom and Yemen. 'There is growing cooperation between the two countries in all health domains, and this covers programs which are focusing on means of combating chronic diseases and malaria as well as poliomyelitis', he said. Dr Majed al-Jadid said arrangements are underway to make the Arabian peninsula free from malaria.
