NEW DELHI, MARCH 26, SPA -- BRITAIN'S PRINCE CHARLES WAS TO ARRIVE IN INDIA ON SUNDAY WITH HIS WIFE CAMILLA FOR A SIX-DAY TOUR THAT WILL INCLUDE MEETINGS WITH FARMERS AND ARTISANS AND VISITS TO TWO ANCIENT FORTS, AP REPORTED.
PRINCE CHARLES WAS EXPECTED TO TRAVEL TO PUNJAB AND RAJASTHAN STATES DURING THE VISIT THAT ENDS FRIDAY, THE LAST LEG OF HIS FOREIGN TOUR THAT ALSO INCLUDED EGYPT AND SAUDI ARABIA. THE PRINCE LAST VISITED INDIA IN 2003.
ON MONDAY, CHARLES WAS TO TRAVEL TO A VILLAGE IN PUNJAB STATE WHERE HE WILL MEET FARMERS PRACTICING ORGANIC FARMING. HE WILL VISIT A FORT IN PATIALA TOWN AND A GURUDWARA, A SIKH TEMPLE, ON TUESDAY ALSO IN PUNJAB, ACCORDING TO BRITISH AND LOCAL OFFICIALS.
CHARLES WILL SEE WATER CONSERVATION PROJECTS IN THE DESERT STATE OF RAJASTHAN, WITNESS A CULTURAL GALA, TOUR A FORT AND WALK THROUGH THE OLD RAMPARTS OF JAIPUR, THE HISTORY-RICH STATE CAPITAL OVER THE NEXT THREE DAYS.
