Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali bin Ibrahim Alnaimi said today that the project of increasing the oil production of Haradh 3 project has a special importance to Saudi Arabia and to the international oil market. In a press meeting following the ceremony held by Saudi Aramco in Haradh on the occasion of increasing production, he said, "In line with directives by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, Saudi Arabia has been working to increase its production capacity to keep pace with increased world oil demand." He added that on this basis, Saudi Aramco has prepared a gradual multi-phased program to increase the production capacity of Saudi Aramco company from 10.5 million barrels per day (bpd) to 12 million bpd during the forthcoming years so that total Saudi production will reach 12.5 million bpd by 2009 including the production of the divided zone with Kuwait . --More 21 15 Local Time 18 15 GMT
