The government on Friday canceled the maiden flight of a Cypriot charter airline, ajet operated by the same company that ran a carrier involved in a deadly air disaster last year. AP reported All 121 people on board Helios Airways flight No. 522 died when the low-cost airline's Boeing 737-300 crashed near Athens after the plane apparently lost cabin pressure, strayed off course and eventually ran out of fuel. Helios' operator Libra Holidays Group was to launch ajet Friday, but Transport Minister Haris Thrasou blocked the flight to the Greek island of Rhodes. «Since certain conditions had not been fulfilled, it was natural this flight could not be carried out,» Thrasou aid, adding that ajet could not fly under the same license used by Helios. Before Friday's cancellation, Libra said ajet was a separate operation from Helios. The ajet flight was to use a Helios plane and crew. -
