Secretary General of the Jeddah-based Organization of Islamic Conference Dr. Akmaluddin Ihsan Uglu has expressed satisfaction over the talks he held in London recently with British senior officials on matters of interest to the two sides. In a press conference following talks with British Heir Apparent Prince Charles; Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Jack Straw; Secretary of State for the Home Department Charles Clarke, the Islamic Group in the British Foreign Office, a number of ambassadors of Islamic countries accredited to Britain and representatives of the Islamic community in the United Kingdom, Uglu said he discussed with them important matters, including the cartoons blasphemous to the prophet of Islam, resistance of terrorism, situation in Iraq and other areas in the region.
