South Korean automaker Hyundai will wait until next month to announce a decision on plans for a one-billion-dollar assembly plant in the eastern Czech Republic, Czech Trade and Industry Minister Milan Urban told CTK news agency Thursday. Hyundai, which wants a low-cost site to build small cars for the European market, previously pushed back a decision to March from December. At a business seminar in Ostrava, near the proposed plant site, Urban said incentive talks between the carmaker and the government were continuing. But Urban also said the talks were in the "final stage" and that the government would not change its position. No details were given. Hyundai officials at the recent Geneva Motor Show expressed optimism that the Czechs would win the huge investment, which could create 3,000 direct jobs by 2008. ---SP 21 57 Local Time 18 57 GMT
