Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said that Russia would encourage Syria to continue its cooperation with the investigation into the February 2005 assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri. "We will be receiving the new foreign minister of Syria in Moscow next week, and we will discuss the implementation of the Security Council resolutions, and will encourage continuation of cooperation with Syria with the Brammertz commission," Lavrov told reporters after meeting yesterday with U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan. Lavrov also suggested that there should be a future meeting on the disputed Sheba'a Farms territory to help diffuse the Lebanese-Syria situation.
