A conference on kidney diseases started here today its deliberations. The conference is organized by Jeddah-based King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in cooperation with the Saudi society for kidney diseases and Roch company. Experts from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Canada, Belgium, Italy, Brittan, ,the US, Egypt, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as well as consultants of kidney diseases from a number of Saudi hospitals and universities are participating in the conference. Dr Saeed al-Ghamidi, the head of the conference's organizing committee, said the conference will discuss more than 120 working papers on diagnosis and treatment of kidney diseases. Dr al-Ghamidi pointed out that about 8000 persons in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are suffering from kidney failure. He noted that diabetes and blood pressure contribute to the occurrence of kidney diseases.
